No matter how technically skilled and experienced your staff are, it does not mean that they also have the time or resource needed to ensure projects run smoothly. But good project management is essential to meet the terms of grants and indispensable for securing company growth. Through our decades of project and programme management experience, we can help plan your project, set-up processes or run entire projects, and maintain excellent working relationships with funding bodies.
Within a grant funding landscape, we separate our PM work into two areas: project & programme management, and grant management. We define project management in the traditional sense of delivering a project from start to finish. We define grant management as ensuring compliance with the grant funding body’s Ts & Cs, including being the project’s representative to the grant body. Clearly there is some overlap between the two roles, and we can, of course, undertake both. Our separation highlights the different needs of clients – many wish to manage the project in-house, most prefer to have an external consultant be the project’s representative to the grant body.
Through our ongoing MO and MLO contracts (since 2011) with Innovate UK, we know exactly what is required by Innovate UK and its Monitoring Officers, and can thus prepare the team effectively for the quarterly reviews, significantly reducing the management overhead in complying with the grant Ts & Cs.
