Black Kite® Ltd.
Established in 2007, our consultancy services have grown and changed to match the needs of our clients. Our highly qualified and experienced technical staff have all worked as engineers in R&D before moving into management in the same area, so they understand the day-to-day workings of a project at every level. They have managed projects of all sizes, have in-depth knowledge of funding bodies and of the requirements of assessors. Our experience of grant monitoring procedures means that risk management and exploitation plans will not be overlooked. We have staff who have worked in academia as well as in industry, so they know and understand the needs and practices of both.
Because every business and every project is different, we build our services around the needs of our customer, providing as much, or as little, support as you need, and always aiming to deliver the most cost-effective service we can.
Why do we do this? Every member of staff takes an active interest in new technology, and is excited by it. We want to see our customers succeed and gain enormous satisfaction from seeing you bring your product or service to market, knowing that we helped you along the way.

Managing DirectorDeepak founded Black Kite in order to help others build their technology businesses. As an R&D engineer and manager, he has worked on innovative technologies, such as DVB/DTT, DAB, and others. He is a Fellow of the IET and of the Association for Project Management, and both chair and founder of the IET’s Innovation Management Technical Network.
Paul Walland
Technology ManagerPaul has 30 years' experience of academic and industrial research, developing innovation opportunities through EU and UK funded collaborative research. He is trained as a PRINCE-2 practitioner and is a chartered member of the Institute of Physics.
Cheryl Gupta
Operations DirectorComing from a background in information services, Cheryl provides strategic oversight for the company along with administrative and organisational support.
Elaine Evans
Life Sciences & Healthcare SpecialistElaine was the Senior Innovation Lead for Medicines and Healthcare at Innovate UK, after which she supported the Department for International Trade to drive inward investment into healthcare companies, supporting the Northern Powerhouse. She continues to support the Innovation Agency, part of the AHSN Network.
